 Scholarship Bulletin

California Association of Wine Grape Growers-$2,000 or $8,000 scholarship for a student that has a parent or legal guardian employed by a California vineyard.  Applications are available here  application deadline is March 4, 2022.

 

AIA Central Valley/John Ellis Architectural Scholarship-$500 scholarship for an architecture major at a community college, or Four-Year College/University, minimum GPA of 3.5.  Applications available here click on Students tab, click on Find Scholarships then click on AIA Central Valley/John Ellis Architectural Scholarship.  Application deadline is March 11, 2022

 

California Capital Airshow STEM Scholarship-$500-$1,500 for a 2 year college and $500-$8,000 for a 4 year college or university.  This scholarship is for students who are planning to pursue a degree in one of the following areas: Aviation, Aeronautics, Airport Management, Aerospace, Science, Technology, Engineering or Math. Must have at least a 3.5 GPA.  Applications available here.  Click on Students tab, click on Find Scholarships then click on California Capital Airshow STEM Scholarship.  Application deadline is March 11, 2022

 

Diane Dawson Memorial Scholarship-$1,000-$3,000 scholarship for a graduating senior that has a parent or legal guardian with terminal cancer or other terminal illness, or who have lost a parent to a terminal disease during their time in high school.  Must have at least a 2.5 GPA.  Applications available here Click on Students tab, click on Find Scholarships then click on Diane Dawson Memorial Scholarship.  Application deadline is March 11, 2022

 

Eugene & Thora Chin Scholarship Fund-$1,000 to $6,000 for a graduating senior of Asian/Pacific Islander heritage, planning on attending a 2 or 4 year college/university, minimum GPA of 4.0.  Applications available here Click on Students tab, click on Find Scholarships, then click on Eugene & Thora Chin Scholarship Fund.  Application deadline is March 11,2022


Graydon & Myrth Fox Scholarship-$1,000 to $5,000 for a dependent child or grandchild of a US Veteran.  Preference will be given to surviving child or grandchild of personnel killed or wounded while on active duty as a result of their service to our nation.  Applications are available online at here Click on Students tab, click on Find Scholarships then click on Graydon & Myrth Fox Scholarship.  Application deadline is March 11, 2022

 

Julia R. Millon Memorial Scholarship-$1,500 scholarship for a high school senior living within the boundaries of the Winters School District.  Minimum GPA of 2.5, planning to attend a 4 year college/university, community college, vocational, trade or technical school.  Application available here Click on Students tab, click on Find Scholarships, then click on Julia R. Kristi Karacozoff Memorial Scholarship-$1,000 to $2,000 scholarship for a graduating senior, have at least a 3.0 GPA, have a chronic or life-threatening illness, with a doctors certification on your medical condition.  Applications available online at here click on Students tab, click on Find Scholarships, then click on Kristi Karacozoff Memorial Scholarship.  Application deadline is March 11, 2022 

 

Max and Nadine Dimick Scholarship-$500-$1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior that will be attending a community college in the Sacramento area (Sacramento, El Dorado, Yolo and Placer county), have at least a 3.0 GPA.  Applications available online at here click on Students tab, click on Find Scholarships, then click on Max and Nadine Dimick Scholarship.  Application deadline is March 11, 2022 

 

Nadine Dimick Nursing Scholarship-$1,000 scholarship for a nursing student attending a 2 year college or a 4 year university in the Sacramento region, have at least a 3.0 GPA.  Applications available here Click on Students tab, click on Find Scholarships then click on Nadine Dimick Nursing scholarship.  Application deadline is March 11, 2022

 

Philip M. Dowd Memorial Scholarship-$3,000 to $10,000 scholarship for a college bound student pursuing a degree in Public Affairs/Administration or Political Science and Government who have endured hardship and/or overcome obstacles to achieve their goal.  Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college or university.  Applications available here click on Students tab, click on Fin Scholarships then click on Philip M. Dowd Memorial Scholarship.  Application deadline is March 11, 2022

 

Stolba/Sukkary Family Scholarship-$750-$1,500 to provide financial assistance to students pursuing a college degree.  Must be a high school senior in the Sacramento Region (including Yolo County), be accepted/planning to attend a 2 year community college, vocational, trade or technical school, have a minimum 2.5 GPA.  Applications available here Click on Students tab, click on Find Scholarships, then click on Stolba/Sukkary Family Scholarship.  Application deadline is March 11, 2022

 

Yolo Youth Services Award-$1,000 scholarship, student must have volunteered 60 hours with a recognized Yolo County nonprofit organization.  Winner of this scholarship will receive $1,000 and the nonprofit organization they volunteer for will receive a $500 grant.  Applications are available here.  Application deadline is March 11, 2022

 

Cabrillo Civic Club-$500 for a student is of Portuguese descent and has at least a 3.50 GPA and participates in at least 3 extracurricular activities.  Applications can be found in the counseling office or online here  application deadline is March 15, 2022.

 

Race to End the Stigma-$1,000 granted to a graduating high school senior who is interested in mental health awareness or who are willing to share their story about mental health in an effort to end the stigma.  Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.  Paper applications are available in the counseling office or  here Application deadline is April 1, 2022


Humanist, Secular, Good without Good Scholarship-$2,500 presented by the Nickelson Family, $2,500 minimum.  Write an article or essay to be published in the Winters Express about one or more of the following: 1. Being good without a god, 2. Secular versus theist issues, 3. Humanist thought, 4. Non-faith living, 5. The benefits of keeping religion out of public policy, 6. Any related ideas educating and promoting a non-theist or secular society.  An additional mini-scholarship is available by submitting a letter, essay or article directly to the Winters Express on the above mentioned topics.  If published and deemed worthy, $250 will be awarded at the WHS Scholarship Night.  Additional information/handout available in the counseling office.  Submit applications to rrnick@gmail.com no later than May 6, 2022.
