Rotary Club of Winters College Promise-Scholarship for Winters High School seniors that are going to attend Solano Community College in the fall.  This scholarship will help students fund 2 years at community college. Applications available in the counseling office.  Applications due to Marcella Heredia or Jeff Sims no later than March 6, 2020.

 

Sacramento Region Community Foundation-Roughly 28 different scholarships with different requirements.  Apply online at www.sacregcf.org  Application due date March 6, 2020.

 

California Retired Teachers Assoc.-$700 for a graduating senior that is interested in pursuing a career in teaching or a related field.  GPA of at least 3.0, demonstrated an ability to work with youth, and demonstrated involvement in their community.  Paper applications are available in the counseling office. Applications are due to Marcella no later than March 11, 2020.

 

California Hawaii Elks Major Project for Students with Disabilities-Scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 for students at will be attending a community college, 4 year college/university or vocational school.  Applicants must have a physical impairment, neurological impairment, visual impairment, hearing impairment and/or speech disorder. Applications available online at https://chea-elks.org/youth-activities/scholarships/  application deadline is March 15, 2020.

 

Italian Catholic Federation-Scholarship for a graduating senior with a GPA of at least 3.20 and meet all of the requirements in either #1 or #2 1).  Are Roman Catholic and of Italian Descent and live within the Roman Catholic Dioceses of California or 2). If either Roman Catholic parent, guardian or grandparent is a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, the student must be Roamn Catholic but need not be of Italian Descent.  Apply online at www.icf.org.  Application deadline is March 15, 2020.

 

Beta Alpha Beta-$1,000 scholarship available to a graduating senior from Winters High School.  Paper applications available in the counseling office. Applications due to Marcella no later than March 19, 2020.

 

SAFE Credit Union-$1,000 scholarship for graduating seniors.  Must have a GPA of 3.00 or above. Applications available online at https://www.safecu.org/docs/default-source/scholarship/2020-high-school-scholarship-application_19-0958_final.pdf  Application deadline is March 20, 2020.

 

Sutter Davis Hospital Auxiliary-Scholarship available for a senior that is interested in pursuing a career related to the human health sciences, emphasis will be on nursing careers.  Paper applications are available in the counseling office. Applications are due March 31, 2020.

 

Yolo County Fallen Peace Officers Memorial-$1,500 scholarship for a graduating senior with an interest in pursuing a career in Law Enforcement (or a related field).  Paper applications are available in the counseling office. Applications due no later than April 1, 2020.

 

Julia Millon Memorial Scholarship-$1,500 scholarship for a senior from Winters High School.  Must have at least a 2.5 GPA, planning on attending a four-year college/university, community college, vocational, trade or technical school, demonstrate financial need (copy of FAFSA or SAR). Online application can be found at www.sacregcf.org click on STUDENTS then click on FIND SCHOLARSHIPS.  Application deadline is April 3, 2020.

 

Woodland Elks Lodge-$1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior from Winters High School.  Paper applications available in the counseling office. Applications due to Marcella no later than April 10, 2020

 

Yolo Co. Farm Bureau/Charlie Rominger Memorial-$1,500 scholarship for a student with a desire to pursue a career in the agricultural industry.  Paper applications are available in the counseling office. Applications are due no later than April 17, 2020.

 

WHS All Sports Boosters-Must be a senior at Winters High School, parent or legal guardian must be a current Booster member, minimum GPA of at least 2.5.  Paper applications available in the counseling office. Applications due to Marcella no later than April 24, 2020.

 

Soroptimist of Winters-Scholarship available for a graduating senior girl from Winters High School.  Must plan on attending a four year, two year or trade/technical school. Paper applications are available in the counseling office.  Applications due to Marcella no later than 9:00am May 1, 2020.

 

Watts Family Scholarship-$500-$2,000 scholarship for a graduating senior, must be a US citizen, studying a trade related and/or technical career skill.  Paper applications are available in the counseling office. Applications due May 1, 2020.

 

Anytime Fitness Bleed Purple for WHS-Scholarship for a WHS senior with at least a 3.0 GPA who will be attending a vocational/tech school, community college or 4 year college/university offering courses in health or fitness.  Paper applications are available in the counseling office. Applications due to Marcella no later than May 3, 2020.

 

Humanist, Secular, Good without God-presented by the Nickelson Family, $2,500 minimum.  Open to graduating WHS seniors accepted to and planning to attend any public institution of higher education.  Write an article or essay to be published in the Winters Express about one or more of the following: 1. Being good without a god.  2. Secular vs. theist issues. 3. Humanist thought and why it’s superior. 4. Non-faith living. 5. The benefits of keeping religion out of public policy.  6. Any related ideas educating and promoting a non-theist or secular society. Paper applications available in the counseling office. Submit applications to rrnick@gmail.com.  Deadline is May 8, 2020.

 

PB&J Scholarship-$500-$1,000 scholarship for students who have experienced challenges in their life and who have the drive to succeed.  Apply at http://bit.ly/pbjscholars2020 Application deadline is May 31, 2020.
