Winters High School Advisory program (EXPLORE) aims to nurture the whole individual, operating on the premise that a Winters High student is more likely to succeed with a strong network of support and committed adult advocates within the school. At the heart of the program is the student’s relationship with the advisor/Explore teacher and his or her Explore group, cultivated throughout the student’s four years of high school. EXPLORE supports the personal and academic progress of each student while also fostering a sense of community within the advisory group and beyond. Through the Winters High EXPLORE program students will develop a deep understanding of their interests and motivations which will serve as the driving force in their college and career exploration and planning. EXPLORE is the basis through which all Winters High School students will formulate their unique individual plans and goals for high school and life beyond. Students will have the same explore teacher each year. Explore class will be held twice a month.
