Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Winters High School!

We hope our students and families are enjoying a restful summer, and we look forward to welcoming our Warriors back to campus in just a few weeks. Winters High School is a special place because of the dedication of our students, staff, families, and community. Together, we create a school grounded in strong relationships, high expectations, meaningful opportunities, and a shared commitment to preparing every student for college, career, and life.

This year, our staff will focus on student engagement, critical thinking, and performance assessments. We want students to do more than learn content. We want them to analyze information, solve problems, communicate their thinking, collaborate with others, and apply their learning in authentic ways. Performance assessments—including projects, presentations, demonstrations, and other meaningful tasks—will help students show what they know and how they have grown.

This work is aligned with the Winters Joint Unified School District Graduate Profile and builds upon many strengths already present at Winters High School, including AVID, Advanced Placement, Career Technical Education, dual enrollment, athletics, the arts, student leadership, Senior Capstone, and our broad range of extracurricular opportunities.

College and career preparation will continue to be central to our work. Through our partnership with Woodland Community College, students can access dual-enrollment opportunities that may allow them to earn both high school and college credit. Students also have access to articulated courses, college-preparatory pathways, career exploration, and hands-on learning in areas such as agriculture, culinary arts, engineering, technology, and other Career Technical Education programs. We will continue supporting students and families with graduation planning, A–G eligibility, financial aid, scholarships, postsecondary applications, and pathways into college, training, apprenticeship, and employment.

Students must complete 240 credits to graduate from Winters High School. Updated graduation requirements include Senior Capstone for the graduating classes of 2027, 2028, and 2029. Beginning with the graduating class of 2030, requirements also include Personal Finance and Ethnic Studies. We encourage families to review the graduation requirements and course catalog and to work closely with their student’s counselor when planning for graduation and life after high school.

Winters High School may be considered a small school, but the opportunities available to our students are extensive. Our eight-period schedule provides greater access to academic courses, intervention and enrichment, electives, CTE pathways, visual and performing arts, athletics, clubs, leadership, and college coursework. These opportunities are strengthened by a caring staff and a community that consistently shows up for its students.

We believe students are most successful when learning is relevant, rigorous, engaging, and supported by meaningful relationships. We are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive school culture where every student feels known, valued, challenged, and supported.
